Whenever I’m fabric shopping for new costumes I find fantastic Marvel, DC and Star Wars print fabrics. Since I’m a geek who knows how to sew the first though that pops into my mind is ‘I need to buy all of this and make ALL THE THINGS.’ Circle skirts are a great simple sewing project to use your fun fabric finds.
Personally I like making my circle skirts extra full by making a double circle skirt, I find the fullness to be more flattering and you get an amazing princess twirl. To make a double circle skirt you divide your waist circumference by 2 and cut out two full circle skirts, each half the size of your waist. When you sew the two full circle pieces together you get a massive double circle skirt. This method can be applied to make your skirts giant, go triple or even quadruple!
I’ve always wanted to get Psylocke photos with the cherry blossoms, Kevin made this come true! We went to High Park while the cherry blossoms were in bloom to shoot, it was packed with wedding shoots at the time. This costume is one of my favorites for Psylocke and seldom done, I love seeing old school costumes cosplayed.

We’re back from Dragon Con! As usual the cosplayers and costumers turned out in their best and awed us again and again.
Sunday’s Marvel Universe shoot, organized by the SuperHero Costuming Forum, was a success even with the rain delay. At one point we had over 200+ costumers, plus we were able to have sub-group shoots for the Galactic universe, X-Men and even Marvel villains!
We also want to send a huge THANK YOU to every cosplayer, costumer, handler, photographer and fan who made this weekend another great convention for us!
Also, if you were in a Marvel costume, please send along any photos you have our way to firstname.lastname@example.org. :)
Check out a few teasers above and we’ll be back with more photos soon!
